"Aight. I will." He closed his eyes and let the vibration of Akira's purring lull him comfortably to sleep. It was the first time he'd ever slept through a storm in this new world.

The morning arrived with little change in the light in his room, but Gamzee managed to realize the time, even without looking at the clock. He had work in a few hours, and damn he was feeling comfortable. He woke up to see himself still sprawled comfortably beside Akira, and pieced together the last few hours of last night.

He reached up and gently ran his hand up into Akira's hair and scratched gently between his large, fuzzy ears. "G'mornin', Akira."
