"I thought you were doing a lot of good already," Tavros murmured, walking close to Gamzee's side as he turned his hand over in the other's hold to lay it against Gamzee's cheek. "I really think it would be better if we both just focused on ourselves. I would like to talk to him too," he added, looking up at Gamzee with a soft frown. The passive side always seemed to be able to communicate his short-term needs a little better, and for the moment, that would have been easier to focus on rather than what would almost certainly happen in the future if they weren't able to keep the active side level. The last thing he wanted was to have to try and find outside help. If Karkat and Dave ever got wind of it, it would be the end of all of them, he had no doubt.

When they'd turned onto the street leading up to his apartment complex, Tavros slowed down, looking down at his feet as he tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants, picking some at the inner seams of his pockets. "Gamzee, do you think maybe you could stay here with me until we figure this out?" He just hoped it wasn't obvious that he didn't quite trust his matesprit's judgments to remain sound.
